Sport Specific Rules

We are excited to offer a variety of adult sports for you to enjoy year round at our multi-sport facility. Whether you are a seasoned athlete or just looking to stay active, we have something for everyone.

Sport-specific rules in adult recreational leagues exist to make the game fun, fair, and safe for everyone. While many of the basic rules come from the official version of the sport, STAC has adjusted the rules to better fit the spirit of casual, inclusive play.

Here’s why these rules are important:

1. To Promote Fair Play
Recreational leagues welcome players of different skill levels and backgrounds. Sport-specific rules help level the playing field so that experienced players don’t dominate and newer players can enjoy learning and participating.

2. To Encourage Inclusion
Some rules are designed to make sure all players—regardless of gender, age, or ability—get a chance to be involved. For example, gender-based roster rules ensure mixed-gender teams have balanced participation during play.

3. To Support Safety
Rec league rules often ban things like slide tackles, hard contact, or aggressive play—even if they’re legal in competitive leagues—because the focus is on staying safe while having fun.

4. To Keep the Game Fun
At the end of the day, rec sports are about enjoyment and community. The rules help reduce conflict, increase participation, and make sure everyone walks away smiling (and hopefully not injured for work the next day!).

If you have any questions or need clarification on any of the rules, feel free to reach out to our staff. We are here to help make your experience at STAC enjoyable and memorable. Let's play ball!
